so, how does this whole thing work?
You got engaged! You may have been dreaming of that proposal for your whole life, planning your dream wedding with all the little touches that really make it reflect you as a couple. Once the shock wears off though, what happens next? It can be totally overwhelming, but at the end of the day, you are marrying your best friend and starting the next chapter of your life. Whether you're getting married in one year or one month, you can still get the wedding ceremony that you deserve, and I would love nothing more than to share that experience with you! Let's get started!
Wedding planning can be very time consuming, so I can (hopefully!) make it an easy thing for you to do.
First things first, we need to meet! Whether it be over coffee, a glass of wine, or a chat over zoom, you should find out if we would be a good fit. If you select me as your officiant (I hope you do!) you'd tell me a lot of personal information over the course of our relationship. Plus, I want to make sure you feel totally comfortable with me since I would be the person standing beside you and your main squeeze professing your love to the whole world.
Next, phase one of the legal stuff.
I would send you two emails. The first would be a contract that you would digitally sign. The next would be a payment email. From this link you'd be able to pay your deposit and secure my services as your officiant. Whoo hoo! You're booked!
Now onto the good stuff.
Here's where you dish the dirt! I'll send both of you an email questionnaire for you to answer separately. Here's where I find out all about you, both as a couple and as individuals. I will craft your ceremony from this questionnaire and make it really personal to you. No two people are alike, so no two ceremonies should be either! I'll create your ceremony script and send it your way in a google doc. You can review this whenever you have time! You have full veto power over the script, and you can tell me if you want to expand or exclude anything in the script. Depending on your ceremony, I'll send you reading ideas, help with your vows, and anything else that would make it really perfect.
Something you have to do that I can't help with...
Your marriage license. That one is something I can't help with, but I will need. You can give me this at your rehearsal or the day of the wedding, and I'll get everything filled out from there. You have 30 days prior to the wedding to get your license.
Wedding Rehearsals and Day Of
Depending on your package, you might have a rehearsal. I'll help you with the timeline, processional order, and overall wedding party wrangling. Unruly groomsmen or a bridesmaid that just can't get it together? Don't worry. I've got you covered. I may be little, but I'm loud! I'll help orchestrate your rehearsal, and make sure everyone feels comfortable with their roles and responsibilities on the wedding day. When the wedding day comes, I typically arrive 30-45 minutes prior to the ceremony to touch base with any musicians, venue coordinators, wedding planners, or members of your family & wedding party that might not have been at the rehearsal. I'll check in with you to see if you need anything and we'll only start when you're ready. It's your big day! Yay! I'll perform the ceremony and after I will gather your two witnesses and your photographer to sign the marriage license. You can now celebrate married bliss!
The last bit of the legal stuff.
I'll take the marriage license after the ceremony and make sure that it is delivered to the appropriate location to legally solidify your marriage. You'll have a faux copy to take with you the day of the wedding, and I'll bring the real one with me. You're all done and totally married! Love is awesome!
